Cedrus School

Privacy

I keep as little as I can, I never sell it or pass it on, and you can ask me to delete it at any time.

Who is behind this site

Cedrus School of Fine Cabinetmaking is run by me, Rafael Greenblatt. If you have a question about your details, write to me at refael@cedrusschool.com.

Your email address

When you join the waiting list or open the plane course, I keep your email address. I use it for three things: the email that confirms your place, a short email when a new film is out (about once a week), and your invitation when the school opens.

Every email has a link for leaving the list, and it works at once. Like most email services, the one I use shows me whether an email was opened and whether a link in it was pressed.

Questions and work you send

When you ask a question or show your work under a film, I keep your first name, your email address, what you wrote, and any photographs or link you added.

Once I've answered, your first name, your words and your photographs appear under that film for everyone in the course to read, because we learn from each other's questions. Your email address is never shown. I use it only to let you know I've answered.

Beside your name is the face you chose in “Your bench”: the first letter of your name on a wood, or a photograph if you added one. A photograph you add is kept on your own phone or computer until you send a question or show your work; then a small copy goes with it, and appears with it.

If you'd like something you posted taken down, tell me and I'll remove it.

A private half hour

Booking is handled by Calendly and payment by PayPal. They receive your name, your email address, your answers to the short questions before the call, and your payment. I never see your card details.

The call is on Zoom. An AI assistant takes notes during the call so that I can serve you better. The notes are for me and are never shared.

What stays on your own device

So that you don't have to type your email again, the site remembers it in your browser, along with your first name, the face and the look you chose (light or dark, text size), the films you've marked as watched, anything you've sent that is still waiting for my answer, and which website first brought you here. This stays on your phone or computer. Clearing your browser's data for this site removes it.

Counting visits

The site counts visits, so I can see what is working: which page was opened, which website the visitor came from, and whether an email was left. There are no cookies, and nothing in the count says who you are.

To tell one visitor from another during a single day, the site makes an anonymous code that changes every day and cannot be turned back into a person. Your internet address is not kept.

What I don't do

No advertising, nothing that follows you around the web, and no selling or lending of your details to anyone.

Your choices

You can leave the list at any time with the link in any email. You can also ask me what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Write to refael@cedrusschool.com and I'll take care of it.
